Q: Do I have to wait until the stated expiration date before renewing my domain name? Return to Top

A:    You don't have to wait for your domain name registration to expire before renewing it. In fact, it is a good idea to extend the term well before the expiration date - why worry about letting the expiration date pass by because you were too busy and it slipped your mind? The term you choose for renewal will be added to your existing term no matter when you renew

Q: Will I be notified in advance of the expiration date of any domains I may have purchased? Return to Top

A:    That depends on which Registrar you used and whether you are listed as the Registrant and the Administrative Contact - and whether your contact information is current. This illustrates the importance of using a Registrar who offers you the tools to maintain your domain contact information through a simple web interface - we utilize such a handy tool at the InternetCrusade.

Q: How long can I extend the registration of my domain name? Return to Top

A:    You can extend the registration for up to another 9 years. You simply add time to your existing registration term…and you can do this at any time. The cost per year decreases for the longer term extensions such as 5 and 9 years - for example, the price is $179 for a 9 year renewal. More important, especially if the domain name is an integral part of your Internet Identity, you don't have to worry each year about losing this prized asset and having someone else claim it.

Q: What happens if I fail to take action before the expiration date? Return to Top

A:    Depending on the Registrar, there may be a short grace period for you to renew the registration term before the name is released back to the pool of available names and anyone else can pick it up. Loss of domain name will terminate related services such as eMail and web forwarding. Don't risk any changes in the unofficial grace period - renew your domain name well in advance.

Q: How do I find out the expiration dates of any of my domains? Return to Top

A:    Check in the WHOIS for domain contact information including expiration date. Go to http://Domains.InternetCrusade.com and click on the WHOIS tab on top. Insert your domain name including the extension for .com or .org. If you are an existing customer of InternetCrusade, you can review your domains and their expiration dates when you go to http://InternetCrusade.com and click on Renewals in the Domain Search window. Internet identity. It is simple...but, oh so effective.

Q: OK…I am ready to renew my domains that I originally registered through InternetCrusade….what do I do next? Return to Top

A:    That's easy…provided you have your credit card handy ;-) Go to http://InternetCrusade.com and click on RENEWALS in the Domain Search window. Under "Existing Customers" type in the full domain name and click CONTINUE. Then click Create My Account. The next screen will show the Domains To Extend. You will see the Domain Name, the Expiry date, along with a drop down menu that contains the term you would like to extend along with the price. We recommend 5 years or 9 years. Click in the term desired so it highlights in blue and then click on the EXTEND MY DOMAINS button. You will then see an Order Summary page requesting you verify the order and then complete your credit card information and click on the Extend My Domains button.

Q: How long does it take for the extension to take effect? Return to Top

A:    In a matter of minutes, you will be sent an eMail confirming the success of your renewal and listing the new Expiry date. It's as easy as that.

Q: Now that my domain is renewed, how do I change the contact information on the WHOIS record so that I become the Admin Contact? Return to Top

A:    Changes to the record are easy once you have the Registry Key. At the time of the original purchase, the Registry Key was sent to you.. Further information on using the Registry Key can be found by sending a blank message to DomainRegKeyInfo@InternetCrusade.com

Q: What do I do with my other domains, the ones I purchased through a different Registrar. Return to Top

A:    We recommend that you bring all your domains under one Registrar, one who uses efficient online management tools. We hope you use our services - InternetCrusade® is proud to be the exclusive VIP Partner with the National Association of REALTORS® for domain registration services. You can transfer your domains from your existing Registrar (likely Network Solutions) by going to http://InternetCrusade.com and clicking on the Transfer button. There is a $25 fee for the transfer which includes a one-year extension added on to the remaining term - if you wish, you can extend for another 5 or 9 years at the same time .

Q: Where can I find more information about Transfer of Registrars? Return to Top

A:    Send a blank message to TransferFAQ@InternetCrusade.com

Q: Where can I find more information about domain names? Return to Top
